Foggy Notions are proud to present how r u live at Bello Bar on Sunday 6th December.how r u is the solo project of Irish songwriter\, producer and instrumentalist Thom Southern who resides in Bangor on the North Coast Of Ireland just outside Belfast.  Blending slowcore\, ambient music\, lo-fi indie and alternative folk\, how r u creates intimate\, introspective music that exists somewhere between a bedroom recording and an expansive soundscape.Influenced by artists including Duster\, Elliott Smith\, Sparklehorse\, Neil Young\, Brian Eno and Alex G\, Thom channels a slow and atmospheric dimension of his songwriting and production through how r u.  Built around delicate guitar\, understated vocals\, hazy textures and emotionally direct songwriting\, the project explores the quieter parts of being human – loneliness\, nostalgia\, grief\, healing and the strange feeling of trying to find yourself again. There is a softness at the centre of the music\, but beneath it sits a deep emotional weight; songs often feel less like traditional narratives and more like fleeting thoughts\, memories or moments caught in time.In just over two years since the projects launch how r u has amassed over 10 million streams worldwide\, with hundreds of thousands of monthly listeners across streaming platforms and a growing international audience across the US\, Mexico\, Asia\, Australia and beyond.Following the breakout success of “need some rest” (over 3 million worldwide streams) and a steady run of slowcore singles and projects\, the album marks a new chapter for how r u – expanding the project into richly layered full band production self-produced at Black Bay Studio on the Isle Of Lewis\, Scotland.  This new album is accompanied by a full visual campaign shot across Tokyo\, Japan.While rooted in the emotional honesty of the digital slowcore movement\, his upcoming album\, don’t let your light go out\, expands beyond the genre’s digital echo chamber.
