Sadness is a highly prolific blackgaze and atmospheric black metal project founded in 2014 by Mexican-American multi-instrumentalist Damián Antón Ojeda. Known for mixing emotional shoegaze melodies with intense, shrieking black metal, the project (often based in Illinois and/or Maryland) has released over 50 albums and EPs, including the critically acclaimed ‘I want to be there’.
